Bremer Team boasts home-away-from-home option
New concierge suite the perfect spot for home sellers to relax, work or chill with kids, pets during showings
McHENRY — It’s a pretty common refrain among those trying to sell a home in today’s hot market: Where do I go for hours at a time when back-to-back showings are scheduled?
The struggle is real, and can be especially challenging when you add children, pets, or a work-from-home adult into the mix. But those who are listed with the McHenry-based Bremer Team – Keller Williams Success Realty have a distinct advantage — a temporary home away from home, complete with a kitchenette, lounging area, dining area, full bathroom, and even an office.
“We’ve been planning this for about six months,” said Dawn Bremer, owner and president of the real estate group. “Our concierge suite has a Pac Man game, drinks, snacks, WiFi ... they can bring their dogs, children, laptops, whatever they need. I don’t know of anybody else who offers something like this.”

The roughly 800-square-foot space, a former apartment, is tucked behind the Bremer Team offices at 1218 N. Green St. A coded lock box will allow easy access for those requesting its use. And, in addition to those selling their homes via the Bremer Team, members of the community also are encouraged to rent the space on an as-needed basis for a nominal fee.
“Many people don’t have a brick-and-mortar office,” Bremer said. “They can feel free to contact us and utilize this if it’s not already in use.”

Bremer added she’s excited to see how the concierge suite concept is received. Roughly 100 people attended a recent ribbon cutting to check out the bright, freshly painted and decorated space.
“You know, the biggest complaint I hear is ‘What am I going to do with my dogs?’” Bremer said. “Or ‘I work from home; this is so inconvenient during showings. Where do I go?’ Or ‘I had to drive around with my dog for four hours while my house was being shown.’
“We wanted to problem solve,” she said. “We think this is going to be a bit of a Godsend for people.” The space is complete and available now. Anyone interested is encouraged to call 847-456-6334 or send inquiries to Bremerteam18@gmail.com.
