Brewery to Open Soon in Historic Grayslake Building

GRAYSLAKE, IL - Rehab work is underway at the 101-year-old Cupola Building at 2 S. Lake St. in Grayslake as Light the Lamp Brewery plans to open a production facility, tap room and restaurant in the coming weeks, the Daily Herald reports.
Co-owner Jeff Sheppard told the newspaper he plans to shift the business side of the brewery from its current location at 10 S. Lake Street to the new facility in six to eight weeks. Sheppard says brewery expects to double its beer output at the new location.

The tap room at the new facility is expected to be ready to go soon and the restaurant's opening is expected to follow, according to the Daily Herald. Exterior updates include a new roof and brick exterior for the portion of the building facing Lake Street.
The brewery also plans to distribute its beer from the new production facility to Chicago-area bars and restaurants, the Daily Herald reports.
