Buyers Build With Plote Homes A Second Time Around

Just about a year ago, Jim and Anissa Pietrarosso were enjoying an Easter brunch when they struck up a conversation with a sales associate from The Lakes of Boulder Ridge. She mentioned a quick move-in home under construction at the Lake In The Hills community that she thought would be perfect for the couple. Turns out she was right. Less than six months later, the Pietrarossos were moving into their brand-new Brentwood duplex—and they couldn’t be happier.

“The timing was right,” said Jim Pietrarosso. “Already members of the Boulder Ridge Country Cub, we were familiar with The Lakes and thought that someday when we became empty nesters, we’d like to live there. That day came last summer.”

The Pietrarossos had built at the Greens of Boulder Ridge back in the early 2000s and were extremely impressed with Plote Homes’ quality workmanship so it was an easy decision to build with the company again. This time, they chose the Brentwood in The Lakes neighborhood.

The Brentwood has approximately 1,700 square feet of space on the main level with two bedrooms plus a study and two full baths. The kitchen adjoins the dinette making it easy to prep, serve and enjoy everyday meals. The Great Room offers access to the deck, which the Pietrarossos upgraded to a screened-in porch.

“It’s one of our favorite features,” said Anissa Pietrarosso. “We can sit outside with a cup of coffee and read or simply relax. It’s nice for entertaining, too.”

The couple also upgraded from a standard basement to a full finished English basement, which adds more than 1,300 square feet of living space to their home. It is ideal for get togethers or when the children come home for a visit.

“With the extra space from the expanded Brentwood, the porch and basement, this feels like a detached single-family home and not a duplex,” she added.

Although the Pietrarossos chose a quick move-in home, they still were able to add all their own personal touches since the house was just at the foundation stage when they purchased it. Some of the decorator items they selected included upgraded wood floors, ceramic tile in the baths, solid wood doors, and more. Additionally, they added heat in the garage, crown molding throughout, custom millwork in the den, and eliminated the whirlpool tub in the master bath to create a larger shower and walk-in closet.

The Brentwood is one of four duplex plans available at The Lakes of Boulder Ridge. Base prices range from $321,900 to $361,900 for designs with 1,710 to 2,254 square feet of space, two bedrooms, two baths, and two-car garages. Right now, buyers can receive a free screened-in porch and finished basement upgrade when they purchase a duplex at The Lakes of Boulder Ridge during the Spring Into Savings event happening this weekend.

In addition to the duplexes, four designs are offered for the detached, single-family homes. They have 1,710 to 2,243 square feet of space, two bedrooms, two baths, and two-car garages for base prices that range from $374,900 to $410,900.

In addition to the home styles, another attractive feature of The Lakes of boulder Ridge is the property’s low maintenance: all yard work in the summer, snow removal in the winter, and landscaping year-round is handled by the homeowners’ association.

“When we would drive through the neighborhood, we were always so impressed with how well maintained it is,” said Jim Pietrarosso. “And we are thrilled to see it start to take off again. While building our home, the one next to us sold within a few weeks. And there are probably at least a dozen homes under construction now.”

In fact, only a limited number of duplexes still are available with stunning golf course or water views.

“We have built with Plote Homes twice—nearly 15 years apart—and each was a wonderful experience,” Jim added. “They left no stone unturned as they worked with us to give us the exact home we wanted and stay within budget.”

The couple appreciated the assistance they received when making selections and the advice on decorator items. They even had support from Plote Homes management as they worked to secure financing.

“Everyone really went above and beyond,” he said. “It truly was an excellent experience. And Plote Homes delivers a top-notch product.”
