Car Hit By Metra Train at Seven Angels Crossing

The collision happened Wednesday night near Fox River Grove.

FOX RIVER GROVE, IL — No one was injured or killed when a car was hit my a Metra train Wednesday night at Route 14 and Algonquin Road near Fox River Grove, the Northwest Herald reports. The Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train 653 hit the vehicle at about 8 p.m. The railroad crossing, also known as Seven Angels Crossing, is the site of a 1995 collision involving a school bus and train that claimed the lives of seven Cary-Grove High School students.

Algonquin Road at Route 14 was closed for two hours following the collision, according to the article.
