A look at how Cary-Grove athletics did this week.

Another busy week of athletics has passed by for , here’s a look at what has happened…

Volleyball: Cary opened the week with a 25-18, 25-11 win over Fox Valley Conference rival Crystal Lake South on Tuesday as Ashley Rosch had 11 kills.

The Trojans defeated Hampshire on Thursday 25-7, 25-19 as Rosch pounded down another seven kills.

On Saturday, C-G won their second tournament in as many weeks in taking the Prairie Ridge Tournament. Cary won five matches on the day to improve to 13-0 on the season with wins over Prairie Ridge, St. Charles East, Barrington, New Trier and Nazareth. Rosch had 36 kills on the day to finish the week with 54.

Boys Soccer: Cary started the week with a 4-0 win over Hampshire as Zac Solarte scored twice for the Trojans.

The Trojans added another 4-0 victory on Thursday against Grayslake Central as Eric Wilde had two goals in the win and Cary improved to 5-1 on the year.

Girls Tennis: Cary began the week on Tuesday with a 7-0 win over Huntley in sweeping their third straight dual match. None of the matches lasted past two sets in the sweep.

The Trojans added a sixth-place finish on Saturday at the Buffalo Grove Invitational.

Boys Golf: Jarrett Kinney shot an even-par 36 on Wednesday to lead Cary to a 152-166 win over Grayslake North while Dan DePrey added a 37 in the victory.

Kinney followed up his performance on Thursday with a 1-under 36 during a 156-172 win over Grayslake Central.

Girls Golf: The Crystal Lake Central girls’ golf team which co-ops with Cary-Grove won their lone match of the week over McHenry on Wednesday as Lexi Harkins shot a 4-over par 39.

Cary’s Amalia Emma added a 40 in the victory.

Boys Cross Country: C-G was at Huntley Tuesday for the Huntley Duals where the Trojans went 2-1 with wins over Huntley and Dundee-Crown while falling to Jacobs. 

Dustin Throw finished second overall in a time of 16:06 over the three-mile course. Dan Sikora finished eighth. On Saturday, the Trojans finished 16th in the 20-team Wauconda Invitational. Throw finished 15th to lead Cary.

Girls Cross Country: The Cary girls were also at Huntley and finished 3-0 against Huntley, Dundee-Crown and Jacobs.

Paige Freund finished fourth overall in 19:36 and was followed by six of her teammates who finished 6th-11th to lead Cary to the win.

The Cary girls finished fourth at the Wauconda Invitational on Saturday as Sarah Englund finished 15th to lead the Trojans.

Girls Swimming: The Trojans opened their week at St. Viator in Arlington Heights on Wednesday and came away with a 66-27 win.

CG won the 200 medley relay along with the 200 and 400 meter freestyle and a 200 freestyle win by Megan Weber.

Melissa Rose added victories in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke while Emily Griswold had a win in the 100 fly. Danielle Dalbke won the 100 backstroke as well for the Trojans.
