Cary Police Raise $30K During Cop On Rooftop Fundraiser

The fund-raising event supports Special Olympics Illinois.

The Cary Police Department raised nearly $30,000 during Friday's Cop on Top fund-raiser. The annual event, which involved police department's from across the suburbs and state, was held from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cary Dunkin' Donuts, 830 Northwest Highway, according to a news release from the Cary Police Department. There, officers perched atop the Dunkin' Donuts rooftop as part of the fundraiser.

Members of the department coordinated the event with assistance from the Cary Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA).

In honor of the Special Olympics athletes and law enforcement participating in the rooftop event, Dunkin’
Donuts donated $15,000.

Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL) is a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competition in 18 sports for more than 23,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and nearly 20,000 young athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities.
