Cary Teen Charged In DUI Crash That Killed Girl, 16
The two-car crash happened earlier this year. An arrest warrant for Craig Rohrbach has been issued.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Cary teen faces reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence charges for allegations he caused a crash that killed a 16-year-old girl in Wauconda in March, the Daily Herald is reporting. An arrest warrant for Caleb R. Rohrbach, 18, of the 300 block of Wooded Knoll Drive, has been issued and authorities expect that he will turn himself in.
He is charged with three counts of reckless homicide, three counts of aggravated driving under the influence of cannabis and two counts of aggravated reckless driving in connection with the March 16 crash that killed Danielle Thomas, 16 of McHenry.
The two-car crash happened on Route 12 near Case Road in Wauconda when a black Hyundai Elantra, driven by Caleb R. Rohrbach, 18, of Cary, was heading south on Route 12 and crossed the center line, colliding head on with a gray Ford Focus, which was driven by Thomas, according to police.

Thomas was a cheerleader at McHenry High School West Campus and attended McHenry Elementary School District 15 elementary and middle schools. She was a member of the McHenry West Key Club, according to her obituary.
Authorities told the Daily Herald charges weren't filed until now because Rohrbach refused to talk to police and the accident reconstruction and electronic evidence gathering had not been completed.
