Police are continuing to ask for the public's help in locating Alexia Peters, 16, of Cary.
CARY, IL — Police are continuing to ask for the public's help as they search for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing for almost two weeks.
Alexia Peters was last seen leaving her home in Cary at 12:45 p.m. on July 27. That same night, she made contact via a phone call around 9:45 p.m. but has not been heard from since, police said.
As of Monday morning, Alexia Peters still has not been found, Cary Police Department deputy chief Scott Naydenoff said. Authorities say they believe she is with an acquaintance in the Cicero area.

"We are still investigating this as a runaway and believe she left the area voluntarily," Naydenoff told Patch in an email response. "That being said, the length of time from last contact with her is concerning."
Peters is described as approximately 5'4" and 115 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say she was last seen wearing black leggings, a white tank top, and a gray North Face jacket with white Puma shoes and a teal back pack.
