Cause Of Fire At Chemical Supply Company Under Investigation
The fire at Rita Corporation in Crystal Lake was contained to an office inside the building.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – A fire inside a chemical supply company in Crystal Lake caused a total of $35,000 in damage Friday night, the Northwest Herald reports. The blaze started inside the Rita Corporation building at 850 S. Route 31 at 6:52 p.m. A sprinkler system inside the building prevented the fire from spreading and when fire crews arrived, they deployed a hoseline into the building to extinguish the fire, according to the news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.
The fire was quickly extinguished and was limited to an office inside the building, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire & Rescue Department. No one was injured in the fire.
Several fire departments were called to the scene of the blaze to assist Crystal Lake fire crews including the Algonquin/LITH Fire Protection District, McHenry Township Fire Protection District, Cary Fire Protection District, Nunda Rural Fire Protection District and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
