The first annual fundraiser and adoption event, on Saturday, featured $10 dog baths, refreshments, pet adoptions and family fun.
"For our first time, we were pretty happy with the turnout. The dog wash was pretty steady for the whole three hours," said owner Diana Schoeneck.
She added, "Everybody had a good time; it went really well. We raised $500 for the Chicagoland Dog Rescue, which goes towards vet bills and to help feed the dogs."
