City's Brush Drop-Off Site Is Moving
The new site at 410 S. Main Street in Crystal Lake will open on April 7.

The city’s brush drop-off site, formerly located at Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 2 at the corner of Coventry Lane and Dartmoor Drive, will be moving to 410 S. Main Street when the site opens on Saturday, April 7, city officials said. On the first and third Saturday of every month, April through November, residents may drop off brush at 410 S. Main Street, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Signage will be posted at the site.
Brush must be less than 6 inches in diameter and no more than six feet in length to be accepted. Bulk and bagged leaves are prohibited by IEPA regulations, according to the news release.
Proof of residency is required. All brush will be ground into wood chips and made available at the Coventry Lane location to Crystal Lake residents free of charge for landscaping. In addition, The city of Crystal Lake Public Works Department will conduct its annual brush pick-up beginning Tuesday, May 1.

Residents are reminded to have all brush set out on the parkway the last weekend in April to help ensure it is picked up. City crews will only make one pass down each city street during the program. All brush must be less than 6 inches in diameter and no more than six feet in length.
