Coroner IDs Man, 34, Killed In Mundelein Crash

The collision happened Monday evening at Route 45 and Route 83 in Mundelein, police said.

MUNDELEIN, IL — A 34-year-old Evanston man was killed Monday evening after being ejected from a motorcycle during a crash involving a sports utility vehicle in Mundelein, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. when a Suzuki motorcycle collided with a Honda Pilot SUV at the intersection of Route 45 and Route 83, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. The motorcyclist, who has been identified as Jeff Williams, 34, of Evanston, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner's office.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County was called in to assist with the investigation. The Lake County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy Tuesday and determined preliminary findings show Williams died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.
