Coroner IDs Man Hit, Killed by Metra Train in Woodstock
The man has been identified as Walter W. Banker, 76, of Woodstock.

A 76-year-old Woodstock man hit and killed by a Metra train over the weekend in Woodstock has been identified as Walter W. Banker.
Banker, of the 200 block of Seminary Avenue, walked in front of the train, the Northwest Herald reported. He was struck by an eastbound train and pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday.
The incident occurred on the railroad tracks behind 341 East Lake St. in Woodstock. Banker died from blunt force trauma to head. Toxicology testing is pending at this time, according to the coroner’s office.
