Coroner IDs Woman, 78, Killed In Crash

FOX LAKE, IL — A 78-year-old Fox Lake woman killed in a crash in Fox Lake has been identified.

Linda Thompson, 78, of Fox Lake, died following the two-car collision on January 9 at Rollins Road and Grand Avenue in Fox Lake, according to a news release from the McHenry County Coroner's Office.

She was transported to Northwestern Hospital in McHenry where she was pronounced dead. The preliminary findings from an autopsy are inconclusive, according to the coroner's office.

Toxicology is pending, and the cause of Thompson's death remains under investigation.
