Crystal Lake Attorney Found Guilty of Planting Video Camera in Fitness Center Bathroom
Authorities said the man captured video of a 14-year-old girl changing at LifeTime Fitness.

A 48-year-old man accused of planting a video camera in the family bathroom at a fitness center in Algonquin has been convicted on a child pornography charge.
James Zeas will now be sentenced during a hearing on March 29 after McHenry County Judge MIchael Feeterer found him guilty during a bench trial, according to a McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office news release.
Prosecutors said the evidence introduced at trial showed that in June of 2009, Zeas took three children to LifeTime Fitness in Algonquin to go swimming. Zeas then secretly placed a video camera in the family bathroom and recorded a young teenage girl changing out of her swimsuit.
The wife of Zeas of Lake Barrington, who is an attorney in Crystal Lake, found the video of the 14-year-old girl changing at the Algonquin fitness center on Zeas’ laptop in 2011, the Chicago Tribune reports. The video was turned over to authorities in 2015 and the couple has since divorced.
