Crystal Lake To Buy Downtown Metra Station

City officials say no changes are planned for the train station and surrounding property.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The city of Crystal Lake plans to buy the downtown train station and property through an intergovernmental agreement with Metra, according to Shaw Media.

Union Pacific plans to sell some or all of its 41 commuter train station properties. Assistant city manager Eric Helm said there's no plans to make any changes to the downtown Crystal Lake Metra station or the 1.8-acre property surrounding it, according to Shaw Media.

"The building and the property are currently in good condition," he said.
