Kownick, who was appointed as a trustee in 2009 to fill a vacancy and was elected as mayor in 2013, told the Northwest Herald that if re-elected his leadership will help move the village forward and said he is looking at annexing land to help increase the village’s tax base. Other projects he plans to see through to completion include the expansion of Sage Products, streetscape improvements in downtown Cary and the completion of the Metra train station.
Cosler said that if voted in as the new mayor he’d do more to promote the village, according to the Northwest Herald. He says that revitalization of Cary’s businesses throughout the village -- and not just in the downtown area -- is needed.
