CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A 31-year-old Crystal Lake man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for unlawfully possessing a gun. Keith Lang pleaded guilty Friday to one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

The charge stems from a June 20, 2018, search of Lang’s home in the 600 block of Savannah Lane in Crystal Lake, according to a news release from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office. Authorities recovered a loaded Walther PPQ M2 firearm in the Lang’s bedroom closet. They also found a tool box full of ammunition in the residence, according to a news release from prosecutors.

Lang has previously been convicted on a felony escape charge in McHenry County on July 2, 2015.
