Crystal Lake Gets New Mexican Restaurant

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – Crystal Lake has a new Mexican restaurant in town. Antigua Mexican Grill’s owner grew up in Zacatecas, Mexico, and uses food from his hometown as inspiration for his menu, according to a news release from the city of Crystal Lake. Antigua Mexican Grill opened at 1500 Carlemont Drive Unit J earlier this month and local residents have reportedly been enjoying Rodriguez’s restaurants, which is meant to embody the taste and feel of Mexico, according to the news release.

Rodriguez has worked in the restaurant business for years. Antigua Mexican Grill is his first restaurant.

The restaurant, which is family-owned and operated, serves lunch and dinner and offers many delicious options including burritos, tacos and margaritas.

The restaurant’s hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday through THursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
