Crystal Lake Home Is Uninhabitable After Fire
A blaze broke out Tuesday afternoon at the single-family home on Ivy Lane. The fire caused $100,000 in damage to the home and its contents.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake home has been deemed uninhabitable after a blaze broke out Tuesday afternoon.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to the residence on Ivy Lane at 1:08 p.m. and found a fire coming from a bedroom on the second floor of the two-story, single-family home. One person inside the home at the time of the fire was able to safely get out, according to a news release from the fire department.
The home sustained smoke and water damage, with damage costs estimated at $100,000. The structure has been deemed uninhabitable until repairs can be made, and the American Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the home, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.

No one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
