Crystal Lake Home Uninhabitable Following Blaze

The deck fire broke out early Monday and spread to the home in the 1400 block of Fountain Green Drive.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake home has been deemed uninhabitable following a deck fire that spread to the residence in the 1400 block of Fountain Green Drive in Crystal Lake early Monday, fire officials said.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was called to the home at about 4:40 a.m. and found the deck in the back of the home was on fire. The blaze had spread to the two-story, single-family home, according to a news release from the fire department.

Everyone inside the residence was able to get safely out of the home before firefighters arrived, according to a news release from the fire department. The fire was deemed under control by 4:52 a.m.

No one was injured in the fire, and the blaze caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
