Crystal Lake Jewelry Store Robbed: Police Want Help

The suspect took two trays of diamond jewelry, struck a store employee and got away in a car. Police want your help.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Crystal Lake police are investigating a robbery that happened at Dalzell Jewelers on Saturday, Oct. 21. The offenders got away, but police are actively searching.

The robbery, at about 3:05 p.m., was at 41 North Williams St., according to a press release from the Crystal Lake Police Department. Police investigated and are working with the following story line.

A man walked into the store and asked to see some certain jewelry. While being shown the jewelry, he took two trays of diamond jewelry and fled, striking an employee on the way out.

He got into the passenger seat of a four-door silver or gray Pontiac, which was last seen going northbound through an alley towards Woodstock Street, the press release said.

The man who took the diamonds from the store was described as a black man in his early 20's, about six-foot-one, searing a black T-shirt, gray sweatpants and white athletic shoes. The driver was only described as a black mail.
