Crystal Lake Man Gets Prison For Heroin Bust
Roman Castrol pleaded guilty last week in McHenry County.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 49-year-old Crystal Lake man was sentenced to 11 years in prison in connection with a 2017 drug bust, authorities said. Roman Castro pleaded guilty to unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a Class X felony, last week in McHenry County. He is required to serve 75 percent of his sentence, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
The charge stems from a May 2, 2017 drug bust. On that date, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office received information about narcotics distribution at a Crystal Lake apartment. When police arrived, they found multiple pounds of heroin and Castro admitted was his, authorities said.
