Crystal Lake Man Guilty in Drug-Induced Homicide
Jeffrey J. Hauck was found guilty of drug-induced homicide following a bench trial.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A 33-year-old Crystal Lake man has been convicted of drug-induced homicide. Jeffrey J. Hauck was found guilty during a bench trial for providing the heroin, which contained fentanyl, to a 32-year-old who later died of an overdose, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
Authorities say Hauck traveled to Chicago to purchase the fentanyl-laced heroin and brought it back to Crystal Lake. He provided it to another individual who then provided it to the 32-year-old resident. The 32-year-old resident was found unresponsive on March 6.
Hauck is set to be sentenced on Nov. 20. He could face between six and 30 years in prison.
