Crystal Lake McDonald’s Set To Be Demolished, Rebuilt
City officials approved plans to replace the longtime Route 14 location with a modernized building and updated drive-thru.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — McDonald’s in Crystal Lake is set to be torn down and rebuilt as part of a major redevelopment plan for the site.
City documents show the location at 551 Crystal Point Road, which has operated as a McDonald’s since 1979, will be replaced with a completely new building and reconfigured parking lot designed to improve drive-thru efficiency and traffic flow, according to Shaw Local. Plans call for a slightly smaller structure with updated features, including a redesigned layout and improved customer access.
City officials have approved the project, which will modernize the long-standing fast-food location just off Route 14.
