Crystal Lake Park District Holiday Events

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- The holidays are fast-approaching. And the Crystal Lake Park District has events planned to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Here is a look at a couple events planned for the coming weeks:

Light Up Crystal Lake

Residents can sign up for the holiday lights competition and get rewarded for their hard work. The first 20 homes registered will be judged in the competition and a trophy is awarded to each winning home. Judging will take place on Dec. 18 and 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. Interested residents can register online

Nutcracker Tea at Colonel Palmer House

There is still time to register for Nutcracker Tea at Colonel Palmer House on Sunday, Dec. 9 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The family friendly "Victorian tea" is meant for ages 15 years old and older. The cost is $25 per person. Those interested can register here.

Christmas Bedtime Stories

Mrs. Claus will be at the rotary building on Tuesday and Friday evenings in December. The event is meant for children ages 3 to 10 years old. Come dressed in your PJs and get ready to hear about the North Pole, sing songs and more.

Santa's Holiday Express

The Crystal Lake Park District will host a magical afternoon on Dec. 2 filled with holiday fun on Santa's Holiday Express. Enjoy a variety of games, activities, and even a visit from Santa. The event will be held from 1 to 4 at the Grand Oaks Recration Center and is meant for children ages 3 to 10 years old. Beginning at 2 p.m. hot chocolate will be served and there willbe a movie. Registration deadline is November 28th.
