Crystal Lake Police Blotter: Sex Abuse, Strangulation Charges

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL —The Crystal Lake Police Department made the following arrests in recent weeks:

Jamie Shawn Mendoza, 44, of the 70 block of New Castle Court in Crystal Lake, was arrested on Oct. 6 and is charged with violating bail bond/family member. Mendoza was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Lino Rivas-Herra, 79, of the 0 to 10 block of Cardiff Court in Algonquin, was arrested on Oct. 12 and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Jasmyn Anaya Demrow Calvin, 18, of the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive in DeKalb, was arrested on Oct. 8 and charged with driving on a suspended license. She was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and later released. She is next expected in court on Nov. 16.

Pablo Diaz Carbajal, 24, of the 800 block of Joanne Lane in Havard, was arrested on Oct. 9 and charged with DUI/alcohol. His bond was set at $300.

Patrick Dane Cook, 68, of the 3200 block of IL Route 176 in Crystal Lake, was arrested on Oct. 9 and charged with unlawfully knowingly possessing a controlled or counterfeit substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a drug. Cook was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Scott Thompsen, 40, of the 200 block of 2nd Street in Crystal Lake, was arrested on Oct. 10 and charged with theft of lost/mislaid property. He was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Michael D. Sievert, 59, of the 300 block of Terra Cotta Avenue, was arrested on Oct. 10 on a warrant for driving on a revoked driver's license/condition of release violation. His bail was set at $5,000.

Corey Ivory Hunter, 30, of Crystal Lake, was arrested on Oct. 13 and charged with domestic battery/bodily harm, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and aggravated domestic battery/strangle. Hunter was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Keyondra Michelle Torres, 20, of the 500 block of Somerset Lane in Crystal Lake, was arrested on Oct. 16 on a warrant for driving while license suspended and speeding. Torres bail has been set at $4,500.

Daniel Benjamin Drudge, 35, of the 200 block of Hickory Road in Oakwood Hills, was arrested on Oct. 16 and charged with driving on a suspended license. Drudge is next expected in court on Nov. 23.

Jeffrey Lance Gresak, 45, of Crystal Lake, was arrested on Oct. 17 and charged with domestic battery/physical contact and domestic battery/bodily harm. Gresak was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Aleny Nevarez, 24 of the 900 block of N. State Street in Marengo, was arrested on Oct. 20 on a warrant and charged with unlawful use of cannabis/driver. The bond amount for Nevarez has been set at $5,000.
