Crystal Lake Police Issue Tickets During St. Paddy's Campaign

The traffic safety detail ran from March 14 to 18.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Police Department pulled over 33 drivers during a St. Patrick's day traffic enforcement initiative that ran from March 14 to 18.

During the traffic campaign, police pulled over 33 drivers for traffic violations and doled out 25 traffic tickets. Police issued the following citations:

  • 9 speeding citations
  • 7 citations for failure to wear your seat belt
  • 2 citations for operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device

One person, who was wanted on a warrant for unlawful possession of marijuana, was also arrested for driving while license is suspended and unlawful possession of marijuana.

During the mobilization, extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours. The enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds.
