Crystal Lake's Festival of Lights Parade is Friday
The parade will step off at 7 p.m. on Nov. 23.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – It's starting to look a bit like Christmas around Crystal Lake these days. The city's public works department began hanging lights and garland last week ahead of the Nov. 23 Festival of Lights Parade. The parade will step off at 7 p.m. and concludes at the corner of Williams & Crystal Lake Avenue where Santa Claus himself will throw his "magic dust" to light the 40-foot community Christmas Tree.
This year's theme is "Let it Snow" and the parade has reached its maximum number of participants, according to the Downtown Crystal Lake website. A map for this year's parade route can be found below.

Following the parade, children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Santa House in Brink Street Market.
No parking will be allowed the entire parade route. Cars need to be off these streets by 5 p.m. on Nov. 23: Caroline Street, Crystal Lake Avenue, Grant Street, Woodstock Street and Williams Street.
