D155’s Parent University Offers Guidance, Support, and Resources

D155 will host its ninth annual Parent University on Saturday, February 18 at Crystal Lake South High School.

Current and future D155 parents have an opportunity to attend free sessions that focus on academics and social -emotional health to successfully guide their children through their high school years. D155 will host its ninth annual Parent University on Saturday, February 18 at Crystal Lake South High School from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

This year’s keynote presentation is about building resilient teens. Missy Berg, a counselor at Prairie Ridge High School, will share with parents how to empower their teens to overcome adversity and deal with challenges that may occur throughout high school with first loves, bullies, friends, and increased responsibilities.

Parents will then have options to attend three different sessions that cover a variety of topics including navigating high school, teens and anxiety, the college process, financial aid and scholarships, study skills, and social conflict.

The course booklet and registration forms are available on the district’s website, www.d155.org; the deadline to register is Tuesday, February 14.
