D47 Hires New Director Of Professional Development
The school board recently approved the appointment of Anastasia Gruper.

CRYSTAL LAKE-CARY, IL - From School District 47: At the District 47 board of education meeting on July 16, 2018, the board approved the appointment of Anastasia Gruper as the district’s director of professional development effective July 1, 2018.
Gruper has served as an assistant principal at Glacier Ridge Elementary School since 2013. She began her career in District 47 in 2002 as a seventh grade teacher at Bernotas Middle School and became an assistant principal at Bernotas in 2008.
“The knowledge, experiences and relationships Anastasia has acquired throughout her tenure in D47 at both the middle and elementary school levels is appreciated,” said Scott Kubelka, assistant superintendent of student learning. “She is passionate about providing all staff with quality professional learning opportunities and is genuinely dedicated to helping them build upon their current knowledge and skill sets. We are excited to have Anastasia serve the district in this new capacity.”

Gruper holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in teaching from Dominican University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of St. Francis. She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in literacy from Judson University.
"Working for District 47 for the past 17 years has offered me many opportunities to learn and grow with incredible students, staff, administrators, and community members,” said Gruper. “In this new role, I look forward to continuing to grow in a collaborative culture as we empower all students."
