D47 OKs New Director Of Math, Science And STEM

Carolyn Stadlman will take on the new role after serving aas an assistant principal at Hannah Beardsley Middle School since August 2015.

From District 47: At the District 47 board meeting on May 21, 2018, the board approved the appointment of Carolyn Stadlman as the district’s Director of Math, Science and STEM effective July 1, 2018.

Stadlman has served as an assistant principal at Hannah Beardsley Middle School since August 2015. Prior to taking on this role in District 47, she served as an elementary principal in Antioch District 34 for five years and as a general education teacher and English Language Learner resource teacher in Mundelein District 75 for seven years.

“Carolyn has a strong passion for curriculum and instruction,” noted Scott Kubelka, assistant superintendent of student learning. “She is student-centered, collaborative, and a hard worker.”

“What I look forward to most in this new role is the opportunity for collaboration and working alongside our teachers and administrators for the benefit of our students,” said Stadlman.

Stadlman holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Trinity International University; a master’s degree in curriculum, technology and education reform from the University of Illinois; and a master’s degree in administration and leadership from Benedictine University. In addition, she is currently pursuing her doctorate in curriculum and instruction through Aurora University and is a member of the College of Lake County TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Inc.) advisory committee.
