D47 Zoom Hacker Makes Inappropriate Comments
School officials say the hacker gained access to Zoom classes for eighth grade students on Tuesday.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Zoom hacker managed to gain access to a handful of remote classes being taught to Lundahl Middle School students this past week and made inappropriate comments, school officials said. The person, who was apparently not supposed to be on the calls, used the first and last names of students and District 47 staff to get into the sessions, Lundahl Principal Angie Compere wrote in an e-mail to parents.
School officials have not figured out who is responsible for the Zoom hacking that occurred during the classes for eighth grade students, Compere said.
District 47 has security measures in place and implemented some changes following Tuesday’s incident to dissuade hackers.
