Deck Fire Causes Damage To Home Near McHenry

The blaze was reported at a home in the 2800 block of Stilling Boulevard in unincorporated McHenry at about 10 p.m. Friday.

MCHENRY, IL — No one was injured when a deck started on fire near McHenry Friday night.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District was called to the blaze in the 2800 block of Stilling Boulevard in unincorporated McHenry at about 10 p.m., according to a news release. Fire crews found a small fire on the rear deck of a bi-level single-family home.

Firefighters were able to quickly put the blaze out.

No firefighters were injured in the fire. Two people were medically evaluated at the scene but were not transported for treatment, according to the news release.

The home and deck sustained minor fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
