District 155 Considers Closing Haber Oaks Campus
The "alternative education campus" currently serves about 90 kids.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – Community High School District is looking at closing its Haber Oaks Campus in Cary as a way to cut costs. The high school opened in 2008 and serves as an "alternative education campus," according to school officials. School officials said the school continues to see enrollment shrink and they are considering moving operations to the first floor of Crystal Lake South, the Northwest Herald reports.
Haber Oaks also houses District 155’s therapeutic day program, which serves special education students with significant emotional and/or behavioral challenge. The Haber Oaks Campus, at 400 Haber Road, also houses a credit recovery program for students in District 155 who have not been successful in proceeding toward a high school diploma in the traditional comprehensive high school setting.
District 155 is set to vote on the closure on Feb. 20. Haber Oaks parents will be invited to a Feb. 8 meeting at Crystal Lake South where school officials will share details about the potential closure according to the Daily Herald. A similar meeting will be held for Crystal Lake South parents on Feb. 5.
