District 47 Approves Full Day Kindergarten

The fee-based, full-day program will be started next school year.

The District 47 School Board on Monday night approved a full-day kindergarten option for parents that will come at an additional cost, the Northwest Herald reports.

The board voted 5-1 in favor of the program for the 2013-14 school year, and fees will be set early next year, the Herald article stated. The cost won't exceed $170 per month per child.

Half-day curriculum still will be available to parents who choose it, the story stated.
