District 47 Kindergarteners to 'Meet the Bus'

Incoming D47 Kindergarteners and their families are invited to the TJA Transportation Open House on Wed., Aug. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

TJA (Transportation Joint Agreement), the shared bus service for School Districts 47 and 155, has hosted the event for the past two years. The open house provides an opportunity for incoming Kindergarten students to meet bus drivers, learn about bus safety, and even board and ride a school bus! More than 350 attended the event last year, where children and their families visited stations to learn about first aid, bus safety equipment, safe seating, and more. One of the day’s highlights features Buster the Bus, a miniature “talking” school bus that teaches kids about bus safety.

The event will be held at the TJA bus garage, located at 1204 S. McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake. If questions, please contact the TJA at 815.455.0558.
