District 47 Student's Artwork Featured at Dole Mansion in May
An art show reception will be held this Friday at Lakeside Arts Park/Dole Mansion. D47 musical groups will also perform.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - The annual District 47 Student Art Show reception will be held this Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lakeside Arts Park/Dole Mansion. The evening is Lakeside’s featured 1st Friday event for May and is free and open to the general public.
Family, friends, artists, and art admirers are invited to this show, which features young artists from the Crystal Lake community showcasing their talents "that are sure to inspire all," Denise Barr, coordinator of community relations for District 47, said in a news release.
Creative works of art by District 47 students across all grade levels and schools will be on display and several D47 musical groups will perform according to the following schedule:

- 5 to 6 p.m.: Lundahl Middle School, Indian Prairie Elementary, West Elementary and Woods Creek Elementary
- 6 to 7 p.m.: Hannah Beardsley Middle School, Canterbury Elementary, Glacier Ridge Elementary and South Elementary
- 7 to 8 p.m.: Bernotas Middle School; Coventry Elementary, North Elementary and Husmann Elementary
“District 47 is fortunate to have a dedicated arts program and be granted the unique opportunity to showcase our students’ creativity in a professional art gallery within a historic community landmark,” Barr said.
Student artwork will be on display May 1 through 28. This award-winning gallery is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Parking is available on site and overflow parking will be available at South Elementary, 601 Golf Road.

“Lakeside Legacy Foundation is extremely proud to be celebrating our 15th anniversary this year. I personally can’t think of a better 1st Friday Art Show to celebrate this momentous occasion with than District 47 families, students, faculty and the greater community," Lakeside executive director Siobhan Cottone said. "This show will highlight the amazing talent of the children in this county thru both visual and performing arts. I can guarantee you will be inspired, energized and impressed by this show.”
Lakeside Legacy Foundation (home to the historic Dole Mansion and Lakeside Arts Park) is a non-profit organization and is sustained by guest donations. Donations at this event and others assist Lakeside Legacy Foundation in continuing its mission in the arts and protecting the historic property for generations to come. Lakeside relies on donations and the generosity of individuals, local businesses and organizations.
