Downed Wire Closes Portion of Main Street in Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - Drivers are urged to avoid Main Street from Congress Parkway to the Walkup Avenue extension, near Ace Hardware, after a wire was reported down in the area, police said. Southbound traffic on Main Street is down to one lane starting at Congress Parkway to the Walkup Avenue extension.

Northbound traffic on Main Street from Walkup Avenue, near Ace Hardware, is closed to thru traffic.

ComEd has been called to the scene. The estimated time for repairs is 1.5 hours.
