Driver Airlifted After Car Collides With Boulder
A 66-year-old McHenry County man is in serious condition following the crash Tuesday morning in unincorporated McHenry County.

A 66-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday morning after his vehicle crashed into a boulder in rural McHenry County, authorities said.
The Cary Fire Protection District was called to 102 Hickory Nut Grove Lane in unincorporated McHenry County at 9:35 a.m. where they found a car with severe damage after crashing into the boulder about 100 feet off the roadway, according to a press release. Paramedics found the driver trapped inside the car.
Paramedics started to treat the man as he was being extricated by other Cary Fire Protection District crew members, according to the news release. It took 40 minutes to safely get the 66-year-old man, who lives in unincorporated McHenry County, out of the mangled car, fire officials said.

A Flight for Life helicopter transported the man, who was listed in serious condition, to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The crash is being investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
