Drug Dealer Gets Prison in Overdose Death
Jaynell J. Ross has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison.

MCHERNY COUNTY, IL -- A 38-year-old Rockford man has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for providing the drugs that caused the drug overdose death of a McHenry County man in July 2017, prosecutors said. Jaynell J. Ross was found guilty on a drug induced homicide charge.
He is currently serving a six-year prison term for a violation of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act. He has been ordered to serve that prison term, which was handed down in November in Winnebago County, and his most recent 12.5-year prison term consecutively, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
Ross was charged with drug induced homicide after authorities connected him to the death of Andrew Giblin. Giblin died from the adverse effects of heroin and cocaine ingestion in July 2017, according to a news release.
