MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – An investigation into suspicious packages being delivered to a Cary home led authorities to a 22-year-old Elgin man, who now faces several drug charges, and a house full of drugs, police said. On April 30, the McHenry County Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force and the U.S. Postal Service arrested Bradley A.W. On Monday, investigators followed a vehicle from Cary to Rantz's Elgin address where they allegedly observed a similar delivery. A search of the Elgin home turned up over $7,000 in cash; 14 pounds of cannabis; 21 pounds of cannabis edibles; 1 pound of cannabis wax; 11 grams of cocaine; and digital scales, packaging materials, and drug paraphernalia. The estimated street value of the illegal drugs seized was $65,000, according to the news release.
Rantz has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony; unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class 1 felony; unlawful possession of marijuana, a class 2 felony; and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony.
