DUI Charge For Man Critically Injured In Crystal Lake Crash: Authorities
The crash happened early Friday near Surrey Lane and Abbington Drive in Crystal Lake.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL —A 21-year-old Crystal Lake man was critically injured after allegedly driving drunk and crashing his vehicle into a tree in a subdivision near Surrey Lane and Abbington Drive early Friday morning, according to authorities.
Officers and firefighters responded around 1 a.m. and found the man trapped inside the smoking vehicle, prompting an emergency rescue response and a medical helicopter standby, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Fire crews extricated him from the car, and he was transported by ambulance and then flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition.
The man since been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and the case remains under investigation by Crystal Lake police, according to the article.
