Duke’s Alehouse Reopens After Electrical Damage Forces Closure

The Crystal Lake restaurant closed for several days after damage to its kitchen exhaust system

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen in downtown Crystal Lake is temporarily closed after an unexpected power surge damaged two key components of its kitchen exhaust system, Shaw Local is reporting.

Owners say the restaurant at 110 N. Main St. closed the afternoon of Aug. 21 and was expected to remain closed while repairs were completed, according to the article. ComEd said a momentary outage lasting less than a minute affected the downtown area last week due to a temporary disturbance on the power grid, but the utility said it has no record of a power surge in the area.

In a Facebook post Saturday, Duke's announced it would reopen that afternoon.
