Important Election Deadlines

The Nov. 3 election will include races for Illinois governor, U.S. Senate, Congress, statewide constitutional offices, the Illinois General Assembly and county offices, along with local ballot questions.

The deadline to register to vote online is Sunday. Illinois residents who miss that deadline can still register and vote in person during the grace-period registration period at designated voting locations.

Voters registering in person should bring two forms of identification, including at least one showing their current address. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is Thursday, Oct. 29, although election officials encourage voters to apply earlier to allow sufficient time for delivery and return.

Early voting ends Monday, Nov. 2, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
