Elderly Man Fatally Shot In Fox Lake

FOX LAKE, IL — A 72-year-old Fox Lake man was found fatally shot in his home Sunday afternoon, police said. The Fox Lake Police Department was called to the residence in the 100 block of Eagle Point Road in Fox Lake at about 2:30 p.m. When authorities arrived, they found a 72-year-old man with an injury from a gunshot wound, according to a news release from the Fox Lake Police Department.

The elderly man was taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry where he was pronounced dead. The Fox Lake Police Department requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force. Fox Lake Detectives and Task Force Investigators remained on the scene investigating the incident, according to authorities.

There is no threat to the community, according to police, who said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
