Elderly Man Struck, Killed By Garbage Truck
Glenn R. Reed, 87, of Spring Grove died at a local hospital following the incident in Spring Grove on Sept. 15.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — An 87-year-old Spring Grove man is dead after he was struck by a garbage truck in Spring Grove last week, authorities said.
The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the man as Glenn R. Reed. He was hit by the garbage truck at the intersection of Huron Drive and Michigan Drive on Sept. 15.
Reed was taken to Northwestern Medical Center in McHenry where he later died. Preliminary findings from an autopsy show Reed died from blunt force trauma.

The cause of his death remains under investigation.
