Junior Bowling is a program that teaches children, both boys and girls, about bowling. Over the course of ten weeks the children are taught how to bowl, how to keep score, bowling etiquette and most importantly teamwork.
The program starts on Saturday at the beginning of January and runs for ten weeks at Metro Bowl, located in downtown Crystal Lake. Children, ages 5 to 16, will bowl two games each week. There are two shifts, 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, with approximately 40 bowlers on each shift. On each shift, the bowlers receive weekly incentive awards for high series, high game and improving averages.
After the tenth week, there is a pizza banquet where bowlers are recognized for their various accomplishments, including most improved, high game and high series. Trophies are awarded to the various teams as well.
The Crystal Lake Jaycees invite your children to beat the winter doldrums and have a great time bowling on Saturdays at Metro Bowl in Crystal Lake.
