Father's Day 2018: Things To Do Across Chicagoland
From bocce, bowling and a buffet to free beer, we've got you and your dad covered this Father's Day.

Sure, gifts are great, but every dad loves quality time with their kids. We scoured the suburbs, looking for some fun ways to celebrate Father's Day and keeping an eye out for special deals for dad.
A Free Dip In the Pool
Ottawa Street Pool, 23820 W Ottawa St. in Plainfield, is offering free admission for dad or grandpa with one paid admission. Make it a family outing and get a break from the extreme heat this weekend while also celebrating the dads in your life. The pool is open from 12 to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Brats and (FREE!) Beer ...
... need we say more? Cary Ale House, at 208 West Main Street in Cary, has a deal made for the beer- and brat-loving dads out there. The Father's Day lunch cookout will run from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Sunday. Buy your dad a brat platter and he gets a free 16-ounce house-brewed draft beer.

Dadfest
Dads will be the topic of many sermons across the Chicago area this weekend and several churches will be hosting events to celebrate the dads in their congregation. But megachurch Willow Creek, at 67 E. Algonquin Road in in South Barrington, will be going all out with their DadFest, which is a family-friendly weekend celebration of dads. There will be a free fireworks display, dozens of food trucks, live music, inflatables, a scavenger hunt for all ages to win a night of driving a classic car, a car show featuring new, high-end performance vehicles and Harley-Davidsons, and more. Willow Creek services are at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 9 and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Father's Day services will feature a message from best-selling author Ken Davis and an interview with NFL hall of famer Ray Lewis with activities planned for after services around Willow Creek's campus. Food and Fun
Sure, Mother's Day brunch seems to be a given. But dads like to eat, too. We've included a couple fun options for food and entertainment in the Chicago area this Sunday.
Father's Day Bluegrass BBQ & Pig Roast at 210 Restaurant in Highwood: This is a full-on pig roast with entertainment from the Windy City Bluegrass Band. The event gets started at 5 p.m. Admission and reservations are $10 per person. The feast is $30 for adults and $10 for kids 11 and under. Music starts at 6:30 p.m. More via 210's website.
Father's Day Brunch at Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg: This Father’s Day, Shaw’s Crab House in Chicago is celebrating Dad with a very special Sunday brunch buffet priced at $79 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and younger. There will be the typical breakfast offerings as well as a surf and turf station, omelette and waffle station and more. Father's Day BBQ and Brookfield Zoo
Bring Dad for a fun noontime Father’s Day barbeque at Pavilion Park Brookfield Zoo. There will be an interactive DJ and an all-you-can-eat summertime buffet as well as cash bar service. And, of course, you can stroll the zoo exhibits before and/or after. Seating is limited and reservations are required – you can call 708-688-8355 to book your spot. The cost is $43.95 for adults, $33.95 for children 3 to 11 years old and those 2 and under are free.

Bowling and Bocce AND Buffet
It's supposed to be hot-hot-hot this weekend, so some indoor fun may be in order. Pinstripes locations across the Chicago area are serving up a Father's Day BBQ brunch. In addition, holiday gaming prices will be offered with bowling costing $12 per hour and bocce priced at $10 per hour at all Pinstripes locations. Here is a look at hours of operation, costs and information on how to make a reservation for each Chicagoland Pinstripes location:
Lexus, Luxury and Libations
Hilton Oak Brook Hills Resort is excited to bring back tradition with an adrenaline-fueled day for "dapper dads" and their families. This event features complimentary test drives of fast Lexus cars, a chef driven BBQ Lunch, craft cocktails, local brews, hand-rolled cigars and live entertainment. The event begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Adults 21 years and older are $65; the cost is $20 for teens (ages 13 to 20) and children 12 years old and under are free. Tickets are available for purchase online. The event will also include kid's activities and live music. Willow Crest Golf Club is taking tee times (an additional green fee is required) and those interested in golfing the challenging 18-hole course can call 630-242-5700.
