The cause of the 35-year-old woman's death remains under investigation.

WOODSTOCK, IL –The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the woman found dead inside a Woodstock apartment Tuesday as Valerie Underwood, 35, the Northwest Herald is reporting. The cause of the woman's death is still pending and interim coroner David Davane told the newspaper his office is waiting on toxicology results.

The Woodstock Police Department was called to the apartment in the 1500 block of North Seminary Avenue at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unresponsive female, police said. Paramedics entered and found the female who was confirmed to be dead at the scene.

Police have not released any information, yet, on the circumstances surrounding Underwood's death at the Silver Creek Apartment complex, according to the Northwest Herald.

Around the same time the death was reported, authorities received a report of “suspicious activity” in the same area, according to a news release from the Woodstock Police Department. It was unknown at the time if the two incidents were related so authorities requested additional assistance from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and also alerted School District 200.

Authorities determined there is “no danger to the public,” and is continuing to investigate the death. The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team is assisting in that investigation.
